The Ogre and the Water of Life

What is “The Water of Life” that has been spoken of in stories throughout the ages? Like many mystical substances it has the power to heal in miraculous ways. But how do we access healing power like that?

This story examines some of the things that can stand in the way of receiving such a blessing, such as not considering ourselves worthy or lovable; or being caught in the shame that such beliefs can engender. It also explores vulnerability as a doorway to accessing our inner strength: what does it take to be vulnerable, and to meet the world without armouring ourselves in our habitual ways?

This story-within-a-story-within-a-story will draw you into the healing process of an ogre, as a mermaid seduces him into seeing his own inner and outer beauty. Then it takes you into the world of a knight preparing for a deadly battle, mysteriously unable to put on even one scrap of armour. How on earth can he defeat a fully armoured enemy?

We all have within us the resources to heal from everything that has wounded us and caused us to close our hearts to life. This story narrates what it feels like to receive the love and to have the courage required to discover those resources.
